Job Information

The Embedded SW  is responsible for the technical coordination of the whole embedded software development team. He has strong skills and experience in software design and development. The market areas of interest are the Internet of things (IoT) and the Railways (diagnostics and signalling).

 

Responsibilities

  • Defines SW design processes, procedures and KPIs
  • Defines the budget associated with the embedded software development team
  • Is responsible for resource training plans, and resources selection
  • Coordinates a medium-sized team
  • Task estimation and planning
  • Training of less experienced resources
  • Analyzes system requirements
  • Defines\reviews software requirements
  • Defines\reviews software architecture
  • Defines\reviews software detailed design
  • Software development and debugging\source code review

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Resource planning and task estimation skills
  • Mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of programming/modeling languages (C, C++, UML)
  • Identify maintainable, scalable and reusable software architectures
  • Object Oriented analysis, design and development skills
  • Knowledge of the main data structures (e.g. array, queue, list, stack, hash table)
  • Knowledge of the main search and ordering algorithms
  • Knowledge of the ISO / OSI stack and the main communication protocols (g. TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, MQTT)
  • Knowledge of embedded operating systems (e.g. FreeRTOS, VxWorks, ThreadX)
  • Knowledge of the software lifecycle
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g. GIT, CVS, SVN)
  • Knowledge of issue tracking tools (e.g. Mantis, Redmine, Bugzilla)
  • Knowledge of static analysis tools (e.g. SonarQube, Cppcheck, Lint)
  • Knowledge of test methodologies (e.g. system test, HW/SW integration test, unit test)
  • Knowledge of the safety critical software lifecycle in railways applications (CENELEC EN 50128)
  • Intermediate in written and spoken English – At least B1

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Concurrent Programming (multi-tasking, queues, mutex, events)
  • Experience in software development on PC (Windows or Linux)
  • Experience in software development on microcontrollers
  • Experience in driver and peripheral software development
